Independent Assessment: A Holistic Approach to Understanding Your Child
Navigating the complexities of autism can be overwhelming for parents. To provide clarity and actionable insights, I offer an Independent Assessment Service designed to help you better understand your child’s unique needs and challenges. This two-part assessment is ideal for parents seeking personalized guidance without committing to a long-term program.
How It Works
Session 1: Child Interaction and Observation
In the first session, I meet your child in person and engage with them in various activities to observe their behavior, interaction patterns, and developmental abilities. This session is recorded for further analysis. I review the recordings to identify key strengths, challenges, and areas for growth, forming hypotheses about the child’s needs.
Session 2: Parent Consultation and Findings
In the follow-up session, conducted online, I meet with you to share my findings and hypotheses. This includes:
- A detailed overview of your child’s observed strengths and challenges.
- Insights into their current developmental stage.
- Tailored plans and strategies to address specific areas of concern.
You will leave this session with a clearer understanding of your child’s needs and practical ideas to implement at home.
Additional Independent Consultation Services
In addition to the Independent Assessment, I also provide guidance for parents who are:
- Navigating a new diagnosis: Understanding what it means and what steps to take next.
- Facing challenges at home: Addressing specific difficulties with your child’s behavior or daily routines.
- Exploring therapy options: Recommendations on therapies that could benefit your child and their ideal frequency.
- Understanding specific behaviors: Gaining clarity on why certain behaviors occur and how to address them effectively.
Why Choose This Service?
I do not offer direct therapy apart from the RDI Family Program, but I can guide you on what might be most beneficial for your child. My goal is to empower parents with knowledge and tools to make informed decisions about their child’s development.
If an in-person consultation is not feasible, I may request interaction videos to ensure a thorough understanding before the consultation.
